The mysterious masterpiece will take you to the time of world war-II - 1945, introducing the protagonist ‘Daniel Sempere’, a young boy of ten years old. His father took him to “The Cemetery of Forgotten Book - a place for books that are no longer remembered by anyone, that are lost in time, life and forever” , to choose and adopt a book he wants. He picked up a book or the book picked him up from a shelf of labyrinth, “A shadow of the wind” by Julian Carax which became his entire life.

Sempere completed a book in a night, intrigued about the author. He started to discover each piece of news related to Carax and figured out that it was the last piece of Carax’s book. All other copies of every book were burned by a faceless man -’Lain Coubert’ who was the devil in the Carax book. In his adulthood, he got interested in a girl named Clara at first and later he began to love another girl named Beatriz - his best friend’s sister.

As Julian's story unfolded, he found most of the circumstances matched with his own love life. The more he investigated, the more devastating stories he found. While relentlessly collecting anything that concerned Carax life, he was followed by psychiatric police investigator, Fumero who was after the life of Carax.

The magical, adult story of Zafon is so enticing, it will grip you from the first fifty pages of the novel. You will be so connected with every character of the story and it won't be hard to heed on the story.

I highly suggest this impeccable mystery for anyone who likes books.
